SWIMMING

Acting within the scope of the management of the municipal sports park and the promotion and incentive of sports practice in the Municipality of Guimarães, Tempo Livre develops several projects that aim to achieve its objectives.

Water is undoubtedly a very conducive medium for exercise. Individuals of all ages and with different levels of physical condition can benefit from its properties in a safe and fun way. The search for aquatic activities such as swimming (adults, children and babies), water polo. Its growing social and cultural valorization, plays an important role in the management of daily stress, going against the newest concept imported from the United States and Europe, of Wellness, that is, well-being.

 Swimming is one of the most complete sports and provides a set of benefits for children and / or adults, and for individuals with disabilities.

Adult classes

LEVEL A0 AND A1 LEARNING TANK 16M
  • Class aimed at adults who want to learn to swim.
  • Development of a methodological sequence that allows, at the end of this stage, an adaptation to the aquatic environment with a notion of respiratory rhythm.
  • Initiation to alternate swimming techniques (crol and coasts) and initiation to diving.
LEVEL A2 AND A3 COMPETITION POOL 25M
  • Class aimed at adults who have completed the previous stage and / or intend to improve their swimming techniques;
  • Development of a methodological sequence that allows, at the end of this step, to master alternate (crol and back) and simultaneous (breaststroke and moth) swimming techniques and style techniques (moth / back / breaststroke / crol);
  • Improvement of the technical gesture and improvement of the starts and turns.
    In this phase, there is a development of cardiovascular capacities and conditional capacities, such as endurance, speed and strength;

Lessons for children

LEVEL C0, C1 AND C1 + LEARNING TANK 16M
  • Class aimed at children from 5/6 years old.
    Development of a methodological sequence that allows, at the end of this stage, to acquire the notion of breathing correctly and automatically;
  • Perform the technique of
    Crol with lateral breathing;
  • Perform the back technique; introduction of arm stroke and leg prone;
  • Introduction to the moth kick technique; starts and turns
LEVEL C2, C3 AND C3 + COMPETITION POOL 25M
  • Class aimed at children who completed the previous stage;
  • Development of a methodological sequence that allows at the end of this stage;
  • Master alternate (crol and back) and simultaneous (breaststroke and Mariposa) swimming techniques and style techniques (moth / back / breaststroke / crol).
  • Improvement of the technical gesture and improvement of the starts and turns.
  • In this phase there is a development of cardiovascular and conditional capacities, such as endurance, speed and strength.

Baby classes

LEVEL B0 FROM 6 MONTHS TO 3 YEARS

30min class and children are accompanied by an adult in class

  • Development of water tolerance (eyes, nose, mouth and ears)
  • Vertical and horizontal displacements / passages and immersions for a fixed or mobile Support
  • Autonomous dorsal buoyancy capacity essential for the
    Water survival
Level B1AB AND B1C FROM 3 YEARS TO 5 YEARS

30min class and the children are not accompanied by an adult in the
Class

  • Development of the entrance to the water from the sitting / standing position
  • Performs exhalation through the nose autonomously
  • Performs shifts / slides / immersions with and without the assistance of the teacher
  • Performs propulsive movements of the lower limbs
  • Autonomous dorsal / ventral buoyancy capacity essential for survival in water
