MUSEOLOGIC UNIT

The aim of this service is to create conditions for repository and archive, digital and virtual registration and documentation of the collective and individual collection and the sporting historical heritage of the municipality of Guimarães, facing sport as a culture and identity element that contributes to social cohesion.

The creation of a virtual museum, with dynamization of activities, training and interaction with society and institutions, where permanent and temporary exhibitions can take place, provides for the existence of a documentary center for the repository of bibliography, studies and publications on sport and sports activity, as well as a sports library.

The repository will have as main mission the documentary and testimonial collection, registration and treatment of the collection, documentation, study and research on the history of sport and traditional games with a view to the publication of the collective sports memory in articles and books.
